Membership in SAR

(1) Qualifications. Membership in the SAR is open to all men over the age of 18 who can prove direct descent from a Revolutionary War Patriot. To be a Patriot, the ancestor must have provided military or civilian service to cause of the American Revolution (for a complete list of services that qualify, please see the National Society's website).

(2) Contacting a helper in our chapter. Contact our chapter webmaster at the address at left. He will get back to you as soon as possible to help get you through the rest of the process.

(3) Collect your documents. Prior to filling out the application, you will need to gather proof of descent for the applicant, for each generation leading back to the Revolutionary Patriot ancestor. You will also need proof of the ansector's service. Details can be found in the SAR form #0912.

(4) Apply. Finally, you complete a worksheet form and provide it and the copies of the collected documentation to our chapter's Registrat, who will fill in the final paperwork, and may ask for additional information and clarification to help make the approval process a smooth one.
